Struggling before exams? These 5 proven strategies will help you study smarter, not harder — and actually remember what you read.
1. Start Early, Study in Chunks
Do not wait for the last week. Break your syllabus into small daily targets and stick to them. Even 2 hours a day for 3 weeks beats 14 hours the night before.
2. Use Previous Year Papers
PYQs are gold. Most universities repeat 60–70% of questions. Solve last 5 years papers and you will spot the pattern instantly.
3. Teach What You Learn
Explain a topic to a friend or even to yourself out loud. If you cannot explain it simply, you do not know it well enough yet.
4. Take Breaks (Seriously)
Study 45 minutes, break 10 minutes. Your brain consolidates memory during rest — skipping breaks actually makes you remember less.
5. Sleep Before the Exam
An all-nighter before the exam destroys recall. Sleep 7–8 hours. Your rested brain will outperform your exhausted one every time.
